Girls Cricket (U12-U14)

 Girls Cricket Flyer

West End Esher Cricket Club introduced a dedicated Girls Cricket Section in 2018. With the aim to provide girls with the opportunity to play competitive cricket in a fun and supportive environment. Our Level 2 UKCC qualified coaches formulate progressive, safe and age and ability appropriate sessions, which are conducted by a group of experienced DBS-checked coaches who are assisted by academy players. We pride ourselves on an extremely impressive coach to cricketer ratio, so that we are able to focus on every cricketers' individual requirements.

Our squad of girls have been entered into the Surrey U14 Smash It indoor and outdoor leagues and the Lady Taverners competition. Girls can can have opportunities to play in the U13 boys teams as well.

Training will commence on Friday 26th April until 19 July (12 sessions) starting at 6.00 pm, with a planned break for half term on 31st May for half term.

What kit do I need?

Junior cricketers may wear any appropriate sportswear for training sessions, but are required to wear West End Esher girls kit for matches and festivals. A selection of West End Esher girls branded cricket wear is available to purchase from our kit supplier “A Sporting Choice” which can be found in Hersham high street. It is not necessary for players to purchase equipment as we have kit bags for all age groups. However, this is limited and we would encourage players to purchase their own bat and helmets.

The younger girls (U6-U9) play pairs cricket with a tennis, wind or incrediball (soft ball) so there is no need to purchase, helmet, gloves or pads. U10-U11 mix in with the boys for training. The U12 to U14 girls train both separately and with the boys. Both groups use hardball for training and matches.

Don't forget to bring water, sun cream and a hat for the hotter days!

Winter Nets

We run dedicated net sessions for the girls in the winter months at Reeds Cricket Centre  Reeds School Cobham on Fridays 5.15 to 6.15pm
