Girls Cricket

We have opened up more slots for the cricket academy. Book now to avoid disappointment .

West End Esher Cricket Club introduced a dedicated Girls Cricket Section in 2018. With the aim to provide girls with the opportunity to play competitive cricket in a fun and supportive environment. Our Level 2 UKCC qualified coaches formulate progressive, safe and age and ability appropriate sessions, which are conducted by a group of experienced DBS-checked coaches who are assisted by academy players. We pride ourselves on an extremely impressive coach to cricketer ratio, so that we are able to focus on every cricketers’ individual requirements.

Leagues

Our squad of girls have been entered into the Surrey U13 & U14 Smash It indoor and outdoor leagues and the Lady Taverners U13 and U15 knockout competitions. Girls can can have opportunities to play up to 2 age groups down  in the boys matches.

U5-U11 boys and girls train together and thereafter boys and girls train separately.

We support a single taster session policy if space is available within the child’s age group. This is provided at a cost of £5.

Age Day Time
U5-9 (Girls) Friday (with Colts) 5:00-6pm
U10-11 (Girls) Friday (with Colts) 6:15-7:45pm
U12-15 (Girls) Friday 6:15-7:45pm
What kit do I need?

Junior cricketers up to U11 are required to wear a white West End Esher shirt for training sessions and white trousers for matches.

We are very exited by the new coloured kit we have designed fo girls cricket. All girls U12-U15 are retired to wear the kit for training and matches.  It is not necessary for players to purchase equipment as we have kit bags for all age groups. However, this is limited and we would encourage players to purchase their own bat.

The younger age groups (U6-U9) play pairs cricket with a tennis, wind or incrediball (soft ball) so there is no need to purchase, helmet, gloves or pads.

U10-U15 play with a hard ball so must wear ladies protective gear.

Don’t forget to bring water, sun cream and a hat for the hotter days!

Winter Nets

We run dedicated net sessions for the girls in the winter months at Reeds Cricket Centre,  Reeds School Cobham on Fridays 6.15pm to 7.15pm.

What is the cost?

Subscriptions for all female junior cricketers are £150  (£110 for siblings) for the season, and include full family membership of the West End Sports and Social Club for a year.
